Volunteers of America always has worked to use every gift of support entrusted to us to help people in need.
Now, Charity Navigator, the country's largest independent evaluator of charities, has recognized our efforts with its highest possible ranking, Four Stars, for sound fiscal management. This increase from last year's three-star rating marks the third time in seven years we have received this coveted award.
"When a donor contributes to our organization, they give their trust along with their financial contribution," says Volunteers of America President/CEO Jim LeBlanc. "We are pleased that our commitment to effectiveness has been acknowledged."
Only one-quarter of all non-profits evaluated by Charity Navigator receive this highest rating, indicating that we outperform the majority of charities with respect to fiscal responsibility.
